Recipe for twice baked potatoes on the grill. If baking in oven poke holes in the potatoes with a fork and bake for 1 hour at 425 degrees. Bake the potatoes and prepare the filling as instructed. First using a knife cut each potato in half lengthwise.
Remove from heat and let cool just until you can touch them comfortably about 20 minutes. Place in the center of the grill over direct heat and cook until skins are crackly the interiors are warmed through and the cheese on top is bubbly 7 10 minutes. The potatoes will still be warm after 10 minutes so i recommend using a glove or oven mitt for the next step.
When ready to bake preheat the oven to 350 f. Place each potato not wrapped in anything and microwave until cooked through. Preheat grill to 350 degrees f place potatoes on grill and close lid.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees f. If using microwave poke holes in each potato with a fork. Brush outer skins with melted butter.
Scoop the flesh into a bowl leaving the skins intact. Wrap individually in foil. Prick the potatoes with a fork and bake until cooked through and tender 1 hour.
Preheat grill to 375 degrees f or medium heat. Microwave potatoes as directed. Or until potatoes are tender turning occasionally.
