Recipe Potato Cabbage Soup
Add cabbage and potatoes and stir to coat.
Recipe potato cabbage soup. Bring to a simmer and cook until the carrots are tender about 20 minutes. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes until potatoes are tender. Once the potato is tender add the chicken and cabbage and simmer for 5 mins.
Add the water cabbage potatoes bouillon pepper and garlic. Leave the stew chunky and serve with crusty bread. In a large saucepan heat broth over medium heat.
Transfer to a blender in small batches and blend until smooth. Reduce heat to low. Add cabbage and potatoes.
Add salt and pepper as well as other spices such as paprika or tabasco to taste. Add the cabbage scallions garlic and salt and cook until the cabbage is slightly softened about 5 minutes. Stir in flour until well blended.
After 50 minutes when the cabbage is almost soft add the potatoes and stir them into the soup so they are covered by the broth. In a large skillet over medium heat melt butter. Heat the oil in a frying pan fry together until golden then remove.
In a large heavy saucepan or dutch oven heat butter over medium low heat. Transfer to a liquidiser in small batches and blend until smooth. Combine the carrots potatoes onion cabbage garlic chicken stock olive oil thyme basil parsley salt and pepper in a stock pot over medium high heat.
