Pecan pie jatz recipe. I don t want to brag too much but i m kind of famous for my pecan pie. Serve with sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired. You beat the 3 eggs well in a medium large bowl mix in the salt sugar and pancake syrup.
Whip cream with icing sugar until thick. Arrange the pecans in the bottom of your pie shell and then pour the syrup misture over the top of it. Take pieces of aluminum foil and gently cover edges of pie crust.
Remove from oven and roughly chop. Preheat oven to 180c 350f standard 160c 320f fan convection. 1 cup chopped pecans.
1 cup vanilla castor sugar. Butter a 9 inch pie plate. Beat the egg whites until stiff then very slowly add the sugar continuing to beat.
Allow to cool in the dish. Place pie on preheated baking sheet and bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until pie is set in center. Add jatz and pecan mixture to the bowl.
Fold the egg whites and cracker crumbs together. Allow pie to cool to room temperature before removing from pan. Tap center surface of pie lightly it should spring back when done.
