Recipe Scalloped Potatoes With Ham
Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Recipe scalloped potatoes with ham. Transfer to a colander and rinse with cold water until cool enough to handle. Combine potatoes ham and onion. Cut the ham into small 1 2 inch chunks that will easily layer with the potatoes.
Sprinkle the top of the casserole with 1 2 cup finely shredded parmesan or gruyère like a swiss cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking. Top with half of the sauce. Layer 1 3 of the potato slices in the buttered casserole dish.
Repeat layers usually 3 4. Layer half the potatoes half the ham and half the onion in an 2 quart baking dish. Bring to a boil.
Bring to a boil over high heat. In a large saucepan melt 4 tablespoons butter over medium heat. In a skillet cook onions in melted butter until golden brown.
Place half in a greased 2 1 2 qt. Cook and stir until tender about 5 minutes. Layer them in the baking dish following the recipe instructions.
Spread 1 3 of the white sauce in bottom of baking dish and top with half of the potatoes. Sprinkle on 1 3 of the ham onion mixture then 1 3 of the cheese then pour on 1 3 of the cream mixture. Use a mandoline slicer to achieve perfectly thin slices of potato that will cook evenly.
