Recipe Potato Soup Sour Cream
Reduce heat to low and simmer until slightly thickened about 3 to 5 minutes.
Recipe potato soup sour cream. Combine flour with remaining milk. Stir in flour until blended. In the same pan saute onion in butter until tender.
Use a potato masher to mash the potatoes 3 4 times just to break them up a bit. Meanwhile in a medium saucepan melt butter add flour and cook for 1 minute while whisking. Reduce heat cover and simmer for 15 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Once potatoes are soft remove pot from heat and use an immersion blender to puree most of the soup. Gradually stir in milk. Add diced potatoes to the pot along with chicken broth milk heavy cream salt pepper and ancho chili powder.
Sprinkle in the flour and cook for three minutes add water and broth. Add 1 3 4 cups milk. Stir to form a smooth paste.
Sprinkle the flour over the ingredients in the pot and stir until smooth use whisk if needed. Add to soup stirring constantly. Bring to a boil stirring frequently and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Stir in milk then cook and stir until mixture begins lightly bubble and thicken. Heat flour in a large saucepan or pot over medium heat. Cook stirring occasionally until the potatoes are softened and fork tender.
