Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts With Bacon And Maple Syrup
Brussels sprouts are roasted with bacon and maple syrup for a smokey caramelised side dish.
Oven roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and maple syrup. The outer leaves of the brussels sprouts will be very dark too this is the caramelized maple syrup. Season with salt and black pepper. Roast in the preheated oven until tender and browned and the outer leaves are crispy about 20 minutes.
Sprinkle pieces of bacon evenly over the sprouts. Taste and adjust seasoning. Place brussels sprouts in a single layer in a baking dish.
They ll be delicious as is but tossing them with maple syrup and balsamic vinegar will make them even better. Remove from the oven and toss immediately with maple syrup balsamic vinegar and extra salt and pepper to taste. Toss the brussels sprouts with the rendered fat from the bacon olive oil salt and pepper.
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until the brussels sprouts are lightly charred and crisp on the outside and tender in the center and the bacon is crisp. Roast in the preheated oven until bacon is crispy and brussels sprouts are caramelized 45 minutes stirring halfway through. Put the brussels and bacon on a foil lined cookie sheet.
