Recipe Potato Soup Ham
Melt the butter in a saucepan add flour mix thoroughly and cook for 1 minute.
Recipe potato soup ham. Slowly stir in the roux and turn your soup. Skim fat if desired. Serve the potato soup garnished with parsley sliced green onions or chives or a little bit of shredded cheese.
Add the ham and potatoes cook for 2 minutes then add the garlic and sauté until fragrant about 30 seconds. In a separate saucepan melt butter over medium low heat. In separate saucepan melt butter over medium low heat.
Stir to combine and heat through. Heat the butter in a pot over medium heat. Combine the potatoes celery onion ham and water in a stockpot.
With a potato masher mash the soup a few times leaving plenty of whole chunks of potato. Add butter and milk stirring constantly. Combine potatoes celery carrots onion ham and water broth in stockpot and bring to boil.
Place diced potatoes onions celery and ham in a pot cover with broth and cook for 10 15 minutes until vegetables soften. Cook until potatoes are tender. Bring to a boil then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender about 10 to 15 minutes.
Using a potato masher or fork mash the potatoes slightly to thicken. If you need to thicken this soup you can add some instant mashed potato flakes. Prep the roux by warming the milk and whisking in the flour until lump free.
