Naan Recipe Using Yeast
Serve it hot with side dish of your choice.
Naan recipe using yeast. Use a large mixing bowl to mix all the ingredients together. In a large bowl whisk together the flour sugar yeast salt and anise seeds if using. Combine 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon instant yeast and 1 teaspoon kosher salt in a large bowl.
Beat 1 minute at medium speed. If the yeast starts to make foam then your yeast is good. Switch to the dough hook and gradually mix in enough of the remaining flour to make a smooth dough.
Make sure the water is warm but not hot and not cold. You can also place the naan in open fire for it to puff and have the tandoor like appearance and taste. Knead for 5 minutes.
Start over with a newly bought yeast. Add your rapid rise yeast you can substitute with active dry yeast too sugar and lukewarm milk into a bowl and let it sit for about two minutes. Heat a tawa make sure it is really hot then place the flattened naan and after few seconds you should see the naan puff up at that time flip it cook till done till brown spots appear.
Blend at low speed until moistened. In a larger bowl put the flour remaining sugar tsp salt and baking powder. Add warm water oil and yogurt to flour mixture.
First start with flour. Mix together then make a well in the centre in which to pour the melted butter yogurt nigella seeds and yeast mixture. Now add rest of the dry ingredients salt sugar yeast and baking soda if you are using.
