Rice Krispie Treats Recipe Unsalted Butter
Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.

8 tablespoons butter 16 ounces marshmallows 9 cups rice krispies cereal in 9 x13 pan 6 tablespoons butter 14 ounces marshmallows plus 2 ounces 6 cups rice krispies cereal in 9 x9 pan the 14 ounces of marshmallows were melted then the 2 ounces were tossed in at the last minute. Lightly press the rice krisipe treat mixture into the pan. Line a 9 9 pan with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray set aside.
Avoid jumbo marshmallows these are sometimes called s more marshmallows the jumbo marshmallows take a long time to melt and can make for hard rice krispie bars. Mini marshamallows melt the easiest. But when it comes to rice krispie treats i prefer to use salted because half the deliciousness is from the salty buttery taste.
Place the rice cereal in a large bowl that has been buttered or sprayed with a non stick vegetable spray. An equal amount of coconut oil or margarine may also be used. Normally with sweet treats you use unsalted butter.
For extra gooey and buttery rice krispie treats use this recipe adding a little extra butter and marshmallow plus a splash of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt makes all the difference. Melt the butter in the saucepan over medium low heat. However you can use unsalted and add salt as needed or sprinkle the treats with sea salt just before serving.
