Put the frosting into a sandwich bag or piping bag. Gradually stir dry ingredients into pumpkin mixture. Add sugar salt baking powder baking soda and pumpkin pie spice.
Mix in flour until combined. Whisk flour baking powder cinnamon baking soda nutmeg and ginger together in a bowl. Frost cooled cookies and sprinkle with cinnamon for decoration if desired.
