Recipe Roasted Brussel Sprouts With Chestnuts
Cook for 5 minutes.
Recipe roasted brussel sprouts with chestnuts. Wash the sprouts in water. Roast for 15 minutes until golden. Drain rinse and discard any damaged leaves.
Bring a large pan of water to the boil and add the sprouts. The sprouts should show some charring here and there. Add the sprouts and the chestnuts and sprinkle with garlic powder.
Remove the tray from the oven add scatter overthe chestnuts making sure they are evenly spread out. 450g brussel sprouts 160g whole chestnuts 40g pistachio nuts 30ml vegetable oil pinch of salt pinch of black pepper. Spread onto a large roasting pan coated with cooking spray.
3 remove the roasting tin from the oven. Step 2 with a sharp knife score each chestnut 1 4 inch deep all around. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes stirring occasionally.
Bake at 400 for 25 minutes or until sprouts are tender stirring after 15 minutes. With their sweet earthy flavour chestnuts are a perfect complement to a wide variety of ingredients including everything from fruit and vegetables to chocolate and meat. Spread in a single layer on a jelly roll pan.
The first job is to prepare the chestnuts. Drain and leave to cool for a few minutes. Toss well to coat.
