Recipe For Rice Pudding In The Oven
Butter a 850ml baking dish then tip in the rice and sugar and stir through the milk.
Recipe for rice pudding in the oven. Wash and drain the rice. Heat the oven to 150c 130c fan gas 2. Preheat the oven to 140 c gas 2.
Bake covered 45 minutes stirring every 15 minutes. Grate the whole nutmeg all over the surface it may seem a lot but it needs it then finally dot the butter on top in little flecks. If desired sprinkle with cinnamon.
Stir in rice and sugar. Step 3 in a large bowl combine beaten eggs milk sugar vanilla extract and salt. Cook for 2 hrs or until the pudding wobbles ever so slightly when shaken.
Stir in raisins and vanilla. Stir the pudding halfway through baking. Pour the milk and rice mixture into the ovenproof dish.
Bring milk to a simmer in a saucepan. Sprinkle in the nutmeg and top with the bay leaf or lemon zest. Pour into prepared pan.
